Facebook Community Guidelines
Through its Facebook page, Sutherland Shire Council will provide information about council initiatives, programs and news. We will use the page to engage with the community, answer general questions, and foster discussion.
For questions requiring detailed answers from specific units of council, please phone our call centre on 02 9710 0333 to be put through to that area.
If you want to report a problem or issue, please use the "Report it" function on our website http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/General/Report_It/Report_It_Options
A "Report It" app is available for download, from our website, for mobile reporting.
Operating our Facebook page
The Sutherland Shire Facebook page is maintained by the Communications & Events team. Questions not able to be answered directly by the staff of Comms & Events will be forwarded to the relevant unit of council for a response.
We endeavour to respond to relevant comments and questions as soon as possible.
We support the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities http://www.facebook.com/terms.php
and related Facebook policies, and we request that visitors to our page to do the same.
Moderating our Facebook page
We welcome your comments and do not discriminate against any views.
Contributors may not:
• harass, abuse or threaten other visitors to the site
• post comments that are likely to offend others, particularly in reference to an individual’s race, age, gender, sexuality, political leaning, religion or disability
• use obscene or offensive language
• post repeat comments continuously
• promote anything that may constitute spam, such as commercial interests, solicitations, advertisements or endorsements of for profit agencies
• reveal personal details such as email addresses, phone numbers or home addresses on the public wall without permission
If you don’t adhere to the above, we will moderate and potentially remove your comment.
If the content of a comment is personal in nature, or is affecting the enjoyment of the page for other visitors, we may remove it and take the disccussion 'offline' into a private channel.
